One of the best scripts - funny and smart. Charlie Kaufman is one of the best screenwriters today.

Good.

Creative as hell.

Now you are writing.

Pushes the limits of absurdity, yet keeps pushing the plot to the next level. Terrific act of balance, very talented writing.

One of my top 5 movies. Absurd humor is anything but sophomoric when done well and this is incredibly funny. I think the "out-of-left-field" concepts like the seventh-and-a-half floor and falling onto the NJ Turnpike after entering John Malkovich's body. The script is brilliant and laugh-out-loud funny.

I love Being John Malkovich, which is why I wanted to read the script. But this has to be a joke. I see similarites to the movie. But there's a good reason half of these scenes were replaced. Craig dressing like a black lesbian, Lotte marrying a chimp, Harry Truman performing Equus, Plus the ending is horrible. Seriously how can anyone give this 10 stars. It has none of the things that made the final film good, its actually almost so bad its good. I still love Kaufman's movies, but I can't see how he actually thought this 1st attempt was good. If Ed Wood was still around, he would've had a field day.

I agree with you Blake. I loved the movie. It's a classic. But I don't see how Kaufman didn't look at this and feel embarrassed. Some of the dialogue and plot turns are just weird.

Henry (10 out of 10 )
This is better than the movie, in my opinion It's far beyond the bounds of what you'll see in even the most surreal movies, which is what I love about it This brings to mind the absurdist writing of Samuel Beckett. I thought the multiple attempts at becoming a woman was hilarious. It's too bad that movies are still such a mainstream artform that we can't allow the full vision of a writer to come to life.
